Financial Controller
Join a fast-growing pet marketplace as Financial Controller in Stockholm. Own the monthly close, automate multi-entity finance, and drive clear, scalable reporting.
About Us
Pet Media Group (PMG) is a fast-growing, profitable scale-up redefining an entire category of marketplaces to help pet lovers find their dream pet in a way that is both safe and transparent. With over 1.5 million pets rehomed every year across our marketplaces in the UK, USA, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Sweden. One of our flagship platforms is Pets4Homes.co.uk.
The way pets find new loving homes has remained largely unchanged for centuries. We're on a mission to change that through innovative technology, and increasingly, through the intelligent use of AI. We’re a driven and ambitious team with a track record of building unicorns (e.g. Avito, Frontier Car Group), backed by top-tier investors such as Verdane.
The Role
We're looking for a Financial Controller to take ownership of operational finance across our international entities. You'll report to the Head of Finance and work out of our Stockholm office. You'll work closely with our accountant to automate finance operations across the group, with the goal of a fully automated monthly close that frees the team to focus on higher-value work as we scale.
This is a hands-on role for someone who wants real ownership, not a traditional group controller seat at a large corporation. You will run the close, own the consolidation, and be the operator who makes finance scale as we add entities and complexity.
Key Responsibilities
Own the group's monthly close. Drive automation, shorten the close cycle and ensure consistency and accuracy in our reporting.
Run controllership of our international subsidiaries and partner with local accounting firms.
Manage EOR & payroll administration across the group, ensuring our international setup runs cleanly as we hire across markets.
Operate group treasury and banking, including cash management, payments, and FX across multiple currencies and banking partners.
Who You Are
A hands-on doer who thrives in a scale-up environment with limited structure
Process- and automation-minded, you instinctively look for ways to reduce manual work
Comfortable owning end-to-end responsibility across multiple entities
Self-directed, you don't wait to be told what to prioritise
Strong communicator who can work with external partners across jurisdictions
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or similar
Minimum 2 years of experience from companies with international subsidiaries
Solid understanding of multi-entity and multi-currency consolidation under K3 (IFRS a plus)
Proven NetSuite experience
Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills
Fluent in Swedish and English
Nice to Have
Experience with EOR platforms, spend management tools and payment infrastructure systems
Background in classifieds, marketplace, or other digital businesses
